Visakhapatnam Gets Two Superfast Trains to Chennai, Secunderabad


VISAKHAPATNAM: The ministry of Railways has announced the introduction of two weekly super-fast trains from Visakhapatnam to Chennai (22801/22802) and Secunderabad (12784/12783), with effect from January 23 and 24 respectively.

Chennai Central-Visakhapatnam weekly super-fast express (02802) will be inaugurated on January 18 (Sunday) while Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam AC weekly train (02784/02783) will be introduced on January 19.

Train no 22801 Visakhapatnam – Chennai Central weekly superfast will leave Visakhapatnam at 19.00 hrs every Friday from January 23 onwards and will reach Chennai Central on the next day (Saturday) at 09.35 hours.

In the return journey, train no 22802 Chennai Central – Visakhapatnam will leave Chennai Central at 21.10 hrs every Saturday from January 24 and will reach Visakhapatnam at 11.30 am on Sundays.

The trains will have stoppages at Duvvada, Anakapalle, Annavaram, Samalkot, Rajahmundry, Tadepalligudem, Eluru, Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur and Sulluru Peta.

On it’s inaugural run, special train no 02802 will leave Chennai Central station at 14.45 hrs on January 18 (Sunday) and will arrive at Visakhapatnam at 05.00 hrs on January 19.

Train no 12784 Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam AC super-fast weekly express will leave Secunderabad at 17.55 hrs every Saturday, from January 24 and will arrive at  Visakhapatnam at 06.50 am on Sundays. More info
