LUDHIANA: Twenty trains suffered delays, ranging from half an hour to more than five hours, as the protestors belonging to All India Sikh Federation (AISF) and Punjab Danga Peedit Welfare Association blocked the railway traffic in protest against 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
The trains which suffered worst delay included Amritsari Shatabdi among others express trains.
Eyewitness said that at 5 am sharp, activists of AISF and Punjab Danga Peedit Welfare Association converged on railway tracks in the railway yard facing Dukh Nivaran Sahib Gurudwara and stopped the Howrah Amritsar Mail coming towards the railway station after which they also blocked Dhauladhar Express.
They added that a goods train coming from Ludhiana Railway station was pulled back to the railway station. More info
