TS Proposes 3 Changes to Metro Route

HYDERABAD: The Telangana government has proposed three changes in the alignment of the Hyderabad Metro rail project, it was officially announced here on Tuesday.

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who held a meeting on the issue of changes to the alignment, reiterated that the government’s intention is to complete the Metro rail project without affecting places of worship or heritage structures in the city.

Changes proposed by the government would be officially communicated to the project developer Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Wednesday, the release said.

These changes in alignment were recently discussed during a meeting attended by L&T’s chairman AM Naik where Rao expressed the need to make changes to the alignment at three places and agreed to meet the additional costs.

The chief minister held the review on Tuesday to firm up the proposed changes to which L&T has agreed.

MIM floor leader in the Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi who attended the meeting, submitted the proposals for alignment changes in the old city.  The changes would be made in front of the Assembly building, Badi Chowdi-Sultan Bazar and in the Old City. More info
