Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flags off Katra Express

Saturday, May 30, 2015, Chandigarh: Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today flagged off Katra Express, which will carry passengers straight from Kalka to Katra, through a remote control from Bhuntar airport in Himachal Pradesh.

Ambala MP Ratan Lal Kataria, Kalka MLA Latika Sharma and Panchkula MLA Gian Chand Gupta were present at Kalka railway station.

Giving the information, an official spokesman said the train running from Kalka to Katra would have 16 coaches, out of which one each coach of 2nd AC and 3rd AC, five sleeper coaches, six unreserve coaches  and two SLR coaches.

The train would depart from Kalka railway station on every Tuesday and Saturday at 1900 hrs and would arrive Katra on every Wednesday and Sunday at 0445 hrs.  Every Wednesday and Saturday,  it would depart from Katra at 2130 hrs and would arrive at Kalka every Thursday and Sunday at  0750 hrs. – UNI More info
