The Minister of Railways, Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu inaugurated the Wi-Fi Broadband Services at New Delhi Railway Station today.
The Wi-Fi project on Indian Railways is being executed by RailTel, a Public Sector Undertaking of the Ministry of Railways. Also present among others on the occasion were Ms Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament from New Delhi, Chairman, Railway Board, Shri Arunendra Kumar, Member Traffic, Railway Board Shri D.P. Pande, Member Staff, Railway Board, Shri A.K.Mital, General Manger Northern Railways. Shri Pradeep Kumar, CMD, RailTel, Shri R.K.Bahuguna, other senior officials of Railways, and RailTel.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu said that expectation of railway users are quite basic in nature like cleanliness in stations and trains, quality in catering and security and safety.
It is the responsibility and the duty of the railway administration to meet their expectations. Indian Railways have been taking lot of measures to improve the facilities of the railway users. The world is seeing the changes in various field and the railways should also keep pace with the latest technology. More info
