Ranchi: Despite Cyclone Hudhud losing steam to become a depression on Tuesday, railway services from Ranchi railway division continued to remain disturbed on Wednesday as major trains travelled on diverted routes, bypassing coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

The 12835 Up Hatia-Yeshwantpur headed to Bengaluru and 13351 Up Dhanbad Alaapuzha-Allepy Express bound for Aleppy travelled via Jhadsugda-Raipur-Nagpur despite improved weather, adding running time and adding to passenger’s woes as officials waited till the lapse of official warning till October 16.

“The decision to restore to normal routes will only be taken after the lapse of official warning issued by the Indian Met department till October 16,” said B K Mondal, operations manager of Ranchi division on Wednesday. More info
