Mumbai ticket booking mega-racket: Central Railway decides not to spoil school trips

MUMBAI: School students whose railway tickets were among the 4,500 blocked by the railways after a major booking racket was unearthed will, after all, be able to travel in the same trains they had reserved seats in as a result of Union minister Smriti Irani’s intervention in the matter.

The Central Railway (CR) had blocked the tickets, together worth over Rs 2 crore, after it was revealed that the bookings were done through touts. Twelve people were arrested in the case.

The culprits had set up a mirror website of the IRCTC portal to book tickets using a fraudulent software. More info
