In a meeting between the MMRDA and the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) authorities that lasted for over four hours , the former was asked to complete the pending work of the Monorail Phase II — Wadala to Jacob Circle — at the earliest.

The meeting took place on Monday evening at the MMRDA headquarters, following a CAG audit of the entire Jacob Circle-Wadala-Chembur Monorail corridor.

Confirming the same, MMRDA Commissioner UPS Madan said, “The CAG meeting pertaining to Monorail Phase II took place on Monday, and various topics were discussed during the meeting.

These consisted of the cost factor and the operations, among others.” Before the meeting on Monday, MMRDA officials gave a presentation to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday. During this meeting, the officials informed CM about the completed and ongoing projects.

Sources in the MMRDA claimed that Fadnavis has asked the development body to ensure that the ongoing projects, including Monorail Phase II, should be completed at the earliest and proper care should be taken so that problems faced during the execution of Monorail Phase I — Chembur to Wadala — were not replicated.
