KOLKATA: Taking forward its plan to offer train passengers a wider choice of food, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Tuesday decided to enter into an agreement with foodpanda, an aggregator that has tie-ups with restaurants and chains acros the country.

It takes online orders and delivers food to people’s doorsteps.

Foopanda will start sending food to New Delhi station from December and soon, extend its services to other places, including Howrah and Sealdah.

“Our association with IRCTC will address a huge consumer need. Consumers have limited food options while travelling with Indian Railways but the e-catering service launched by IRCTC is set to change that,” said Saurabh Kochhar, foodpanda CEO. More info
