Indian Railways gets its first AC toilet at Thane station


The suburban rail network and the Indian Railways got its first air-conditioned toilet, also termed ‘deluxe AC toilet’ at Thane station on the Central Railway (CR) on Saturday.

The Rs 35-lakh toilet has 28 urinals and four flush toilets facilities in the gents’ section, and four flush toilets for women. It has separate facilities for the differently-abled, too.

This is the first toilet, on rail premises, to charge people R1 for using urinals and Rs 5 for flush toilets. More info
