GHAZIABAD: The GDA on Tuesday allocated Rs 400 crore from the infrastructure development fund of Ghaziabad for the construction of the second phase of the city’s ambitious Metro project – from Dilshad Garden in Delhi to New Bus Stand.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the fund committee in Meerut, presided over by divisional commissioner Alok Sinha, a day after TOI reported that phase II of the Rs 2,208 crore Metro project has been facing uncertainty over funding. The project is being jointly funded by the Centre, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the UP government.

GDA vice-chairman Vijay Yadav told TOI the sum will be made available to the DMRC for construction work on the Metro corridor. More info
